What changes between the particle models of a solid, liquid and gas?
A prediction is a starting idea. You can revise it after exploring.
Use at least 40 characters and include an observation. Your writing is saved as evidence; it is not automatically judged for accuracy.
This records completion of this demonstration. It is not an official grade or a claim of mastery.
This is an original Bodhi learning activity. Official references establish its curriculum context, rather than endorsement of the simulation or complete syllabus coverage.
Full chapter text; printed pp. 98–115. Chapter text inspected for this mapped objective; activities are original Bodhi designs, not reproduced NCERT tasks. Inspected scope: chapter.
Source checked · 2026-10-21Original activities, questions, reading passages and fictional archives. A curricular connection does not make a Bodhi activity an official NCERT exercise. Broader grade adaptation awaits educator review.
Mapping under review · 2026-10-21Particles vibrate near ordered sites; their neighbours remain similar. The colour and perspective size help separate particles in this drawing. They do not represent different substances. No automatic animation runs: compare successive steps.
You observe that a sample keeps its shape, while its particles vibrate around stable positions. Which representation explains these observations?
Qualitative particle representation with a fixed particle count: solid particles vibrate near lattice sites, liquid particles move within a lower region, and gas particles spread across the container. Relative motion scales with the square root of the energy control. These prescribed paths do not calculate intermolecular forces, collisions, diffusion rates or phase-transition temperatures; phase is selected separately. The energy control is not a Celsius temperature. This is a 2D projection of prescribed 3D coordinates. At zero energy these schematic particles stop; this is not a claim about absolute zero, quantum motion or actual liquid/gas stability.
